Type 1 and Type 2 EV Charging: What's the Difference?

At present, the charging standard is divided into three types: American standard, European standard and GB standard. In terms of charging technology, they are DC charging standard and AC charging standard. There are differences in charging labels applied by models of different brands.

Take Tesla as an example. In terms of interface, "American Standard" adopts SAE J1772 AC charging standard, while "European Standard" adopts Mennekes Type 2 interface. The most obvious difference between these two standards is the number of "jacks". The "jack" here refers to a "pole" of the charging interface, each pole is responsible for a certain job, not all poles are used to transmit electricity.
